Optical thin films with rough interfaces
This is a proposal for a model for optical thin film multilayer structure with rough interfaces. The interfaces are described with their reflectance and transmittance. The light at the rough interface is devided in to two parts. Frst one is specular and the second diffuse light. The optical roughness of the interfaces were described by haze values and angular distribution function of the diffused light at rough interface. Assuming that the specular light is coherent and diffused light is incoherent in nature. This assumption can taken due to the fact that, in real circumstances the contribution of diffuse light to the interference effect of light is very less and it can be ignored if the haze values are low. But the real problem which has to be tackled is the mixing up of amplitudes of these electro magnetic waves and intensities of them. When we mix a coherent light with incoherent light, the coherent light's amplitudes and phases are to be taken in to account and the incoherent light's intensities. In the proposed model, we are treating them seperatly and we incorporate the effects of interference and enhanced absorption inside the layers. Starting from lambert-beer law, through airy summation we can reach to the new model. (Updation will be there in a day or two)
